Dear colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to inform you that the 3rd Summer School “Catalysis: from understanding to applications” integrating heterogeneous, homogeneous and enzymatic catalysis, will be held at IMT Mines Albi (Albi city, France) during June 17-21, 2024.

The objective of this Summer School is to present catalysis as a tool of preference for the development of sustainable processes, respectful to the environment. Catalysis is indeed at the heart of Green Chemistry: atom economy, selectivity and energy economy, transformation of raw materials into targeted products. The rational optimization of the efficiency of a catalyst requires a thorough knowledge of the reaction mechanism, in order to better identify the action levers. Nowadays, a wide range of techniques and methodologies, both experimental and theoretical, allows carrying out detailed mechanistic studies, essential in order to choose the most suitable approach for a specific problem.

Catalysts come in a multitude of forms, ranging from atoms and molecules to nano-objects and complex structures such as zeolites or enzymes, which can be used in a variety of environments, such as in liquids, gases or supported on solids. This Summer School focuses on understanding how the catalytic processes take place, taking advantage of cutting-edge characterization techniques, modelling and design of reactors and processes. Participants are encouraged to submit posters, which will be also presented by flash communications during the Summer School.

Organized by Catalysis@Toulouse group, this Summer School is particularly dedicated to PhD students, Post-docs, Master students, but also to academic and industrial engineers and researchers.

Online registrations will be open on March 01st, 2024. For more information, please visit: https://schoolcat2024.sciencesconf.org

Please be aware that the number of participants will be limited and the selection will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

We look forward to meeting you soon in Albi.

On behalf of the Catalysis@Toulouse group: Montserrat Gómez, Philippe Serp, Blanca Maria Martin Vaca, Katerina Soulantika, Doan Pham Minh
