Le RJ-SCF est heureux de vous parler du projet « Momentom » dont le but premier est de développer de nouvelles molécules et matériaux pour la production et le stockage d’énergies renouvelables tout en considérant les aspects sociétaux et économiques de la transition énergétique.

Ce projet est une initiative de recherche stratégique (IRS) qui rassemble 26 laboratoires de recherche de 10 institutions différents à l’Université Paris-Saclay dans le but de développer de nouvelles stratégies et accompagner la transition énergétique mondiale. Ces instituts regroupent pas moins de 120 chercheurs parmi lesquels 67 % de chimistes, 22 % de physiciens (« Physics of wave and Matter » PhOM), 9 % provenant des sciences humaines et sociales (SHS), et 2 % des sciences de la vie (SDV) sans oublier de nombreux partenaires industriels, des PME et un cluster, le pôle de compétitivité MOVEO.

Le projet « Momentom » affiche trois objectifs principaux, cherchant tout d’abord à relever d’ambitieux défis, cruciaux pour une transition énergétique efficace, comme la capture, la conversion, le stockage et la catalyse des procédés énergétiques. L’étude des problématiques économiques et sociétales de ces nouvelles technologiques sera le second objectif du projet quand la promotion d’appels à collaborations auprès de partenaires industriels fait figure de troisième objectif.

Le projet « Momentom » s’intègre totalement dans un contexte géographique optimal, situé au cœur de l’Université Paris-Saclay et bénéficiant d’actions transverses intitulées « Energy » et « Materials » de l’Université. Le contexte international du projet vient également soutenir l’effort de recherche en tant que contribution à la stratégie nationale « Energie propre, sûre et efficace » et au défis énergétique européen « Secure, clean and efficient energy » du projet « Horizon 2020 » (H2020).

The executive board of the RJ-SCF is glad to give you some insights about the “Momentom” project whose very first goal is to develop new molecules and materials for storage and production of renewable energies while taking into account the societal and economic angles of energetic transition.

This project is an strategic research initiative (SRI) gathering 26 research laboratories from 10 different institutions at Paris-Saclay University in order to develop new strategies and guide the international energetic transition. Those institutes bring together no more than 120 researchers amongst who 67 % of chemists, 22 % of physicists (Physics Of wave and Matter, PhOM), 9 % coming from social and human sciences (SHS), and 2 % from life sciences. The numerous industrial partners are to be mentioned as well as the SME (Small and Medium sized enterprises) and a cluster, the “pole de compétitivité MOVEO”.

The “Momentom” project displays three main objectives, first aiming to address ambitious challenges, crucial for an efficient energetic transition such as capture, conversion, storage and catalysis of energetic processes. The study of economic and societal issues raised by those new technologies will be the second objective when the promotion of calls for collaboration towards industrial partners will be seen as the third objective.

The “Momentom” project is perfectly embedded in an optimal geographic context, located at the heart of the Paris-Saclay University and taking advantage of transversal actions entitled “Energy” and “Materials” within the University. The international context of this project strongly supports the research as a contribution to the national strategy “Energie propre, sûre et efficace“ and to the European energy challenge “Secure, clean and efficient energy “ from the “Horizon 2020” project (H2020).
