The 12th Edition of the French-Italian Chemistry Days (JFIC 2026)
The Section Régionale Sud-PACA of the Société Chimique de France (SCF), in collaboration with the Liguria and Piemonte–Valle d’Aosta regional sections of the Società Chimica Italiana (SCI), is pleased to announce that the 12th edition of the French-Italian Chemistry Days (JFIC) will be held in Nice, on April 9–10, 2026, at the Université Côte d’Azur (Parc Valrose, Grand Château de Valrose).
This prestigious biennial event serves as a major meeting point for the French and Italian chemical communities, providing a unique platform to exchange cutting-edge knowledge, foster collaborations, and highlight the latest scientific breakthroughs.
The JFIC meetings have an interdisciplinary character, aiming to establish long-lasting connections between researchers from the Provence–Alpes–Côte d’Azur region and those from Liguria and Piemonte–Valle d’Aosta, in order to strengthen European cooperation at both scientific and cultural levels.
Over the years, the conference has been organized alternately in France and Italy: in 2002 (Juan-les-Pins), 2004, 2010, and 2018 (Genoa), 2006 and 2014 (Turin), 2008 (Nice), 2012 (Marseille), 2016 (Avignon), 2022 (Toulon), and 2024 (Turin) — gathering more than 100 participants from both countries.
The 2026 edition will cover a broad spectrum of chemistry, including:
Organic and bioorganic chemistry
Green chemistry
Materials chemistry
Computational chemistry and artificial intelligence
Medicinal and food chemistry
The scientific program will feature 4 plenary lectures delivered by internationally renowned scientists, including 2 distinguished awards honoring outstanding contributions by a French and an Italian chemists. In addition, 5 invited talks, over 39 oral communications, and numerous poster presentations will showcase the work of early-career researchers — PhD students and postdoctoral fellows — selected by the Scientific Committee for their excellence.
Special emphasis will be placed on supporting young scientists: poster sessions and oral contributions will highlight their work, and 3 presentations will celebrate the 2026 Thesis Prizes, awarded by the South-PACA section of the SCF and the regional sections of Piemonte–Valle d’Aosta and Liguria of the SCI.
By bringing together researchers from both sides of the Alps, the 12th JFIC will not only celebrate the enduring Franco-Italian collaboration in chemistry but also provide an exceptional opportunity to build new partnerships, inspire innovation, and strengthen the bonds between established scientists and emerging talents.
We warmly invite you to share the event, register, and present your work.
We look forward to welcoming you in Nice!
